Did you know that this brand has had a long tradition and history in the Lake Balaton region, where it was mentioned as” Szigeti” ( islander)? The “szigeti” vine name derives from the word “Szigliget”.The Furmint arrived here to the Szigeti Hill from the Tokaj Wine Region and it has spread under the name of “Szigeti”. For communities around Lake Balaton, the brand has obtained Szigliget as a place of origin, hence comes the new name.
